WHERE DO WE START?

First Step

If you suspect your child may have autism, the first step is to talk to your pediatrician about your concerns. He or she may arrange for your child to undergo a series of assessments which will determine whether or not an official diagnosis can be made.

Diagnosis: Autism, PDD, Aspergers

If you and your family are Alberta residents, we encourage you to be in contact with Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) before starting to contact agencies. Many of the clients on our caseload access our services by using funding provided by FSCD. For more information on FSCD funding, please visit http://www.child.alberta.ca/home/591.cfm or call the intake line that corresponds with your region:

AP Private Services

If FSCD government funding is not an option for your child (ie, your family lives in a province outside of Alberta), we also offer private services on a case by case basis.

Do Some Research

There are so many treatment options and agencies out there that we want you to take some time and research them before you make a decision about what is right for your child. Once you know your options, you can make an informed choice and move forward from there.

Make the Call

If you decide that Autism Partnership’s service model is a fit for your family, then please call our Intake Line at (403) 205-2749 ext 51. Our Administrator will be in contact with you to discuss your situation and provide you with a waitlist registration package if applicable (we require receipt of this package and the accompanying documentation regardless of whether or not we have space immediately available).
